Remembering Gandhi

Today marks the 140th anniversary of his birth. In honor, President Barack Obama delivered a special message, saluting Gandhi’s exceptional, often super-human, commitment to peace.
America has its “roots in the India of Mahatma Gandhi,” the President said.
“We must renew our commitment to live his ideals and to celebrate the dignity of all human beings.
Gandhi’s teachings and ideals, shared with Martin Luther King Jr. on his 1959 pilgrimage to India, transformed American society through our civil rights movement.”
Of course, he transformed not just the United States, but the world.
Today especially, we salute his extraordinary legacy.
[Final word: "Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony," Gandhi]
